  1. Melissa,
    I wrote the last reply to you on the WWII Forums. My name is Jon. I told you about the movie Till the End of Time and The Best Years of Our Lives. I even read that book. I was a reporter for a daily at one time. I have trouble at the WWII Forum with my profile settings. I just wanted you to know I can be contacted. I'll check back here. Thanks

  2. Dear Melissa;

    My name is Bob DeGray and I'm a pastor in Texas and a World War 2 (Christian) Fiction author.

    Looks like a busy moment in your life; sorry about the mono. I'm praying for you, though I don't know you.

    But i feel I do a bit, after looking around the bestofww2 blog and this site. I think we have a lot in common, including a love for both ww2 history and fiction, (and for Britain – I've been three times myself, two of them for book research)

    Anyway, that bring me to my shameless plug. I've just released my first full length novel, We Never Stood Alone, which is the story of a community just west of London on the Thames during the first year and a half of the war. It's a character driven exploration of how God works in the lives of people under difficult circumstances, but with a huge amount of historical research behind it. I think you would enjoy it and I would love to get your opinion, or a review.

    It will be free on Kindle this weekend (Thanksgiving Day through Black Monday), but if you'd like me to send you a paperback copy, I'd be happy to do so.

    Thanks for your time and I pray that your writing and recovery both go well.

    Bob DeGray

  3. Melissa, I am a British writer with a 25-year association with Nebraska. I have published two travel books about the state and a novel which in part centres around it. I have for many years been intrigued on my visits to Fort Robinson about the POW camp there. I have just discovered and ordered your book on the subject. I have also wondered, for many years, whether there was not a novel to be written about a German POW there. I have a few ideas and now I have a little time to spare. But.. I see you are also a novelist.DO you have plans, or have you already written, such a novel based on your researches? I would be interested to know.

  4. Hello Alan! Very nice to meet you! I actually did write a novel about a German POW at the Fort Robinson camp, but it will undoubtedly never be published. 🙂 So if you have some ideas, please go for it! And if you need help with research, let me know. 🙂
